Lord Narayana incarnated during the Dwapara Yuga as a Swan – the symbol of pristine purity and took up asceticism in order to spread knowledge about the scriptures. His glorious lineage was continued by great personalities like Brahma, Sanaka, Doorvaasa, and others. The thirteenth century saw Vayu, incarnating under the explicit command of the Lord, as the next great personality in this lineage. This was Sri Madhvacharya, who went on to become the preceptor for the entire world.
